Etsy Save the Dates

April 28, 2010

Isaiah is a graphic designer.  We have already decided he will be designing our save the dates. So far, we’ve found a few inspiring examples, but in a disappointing Etsy search, we didn’t find everything we had expected in our favorite handmade wonderland.

We came across this Save the Date idea to use library cards in DIY Bride.

They gave links to a website where you can generate your save the date online, for those of you who are Creative Suite illiterate. Here’s ours.

We love this idea, but Isaiah’s into the more graphic-y ideas to showcase his talents. And who could blame him. We’re going to be posting some very preliminary mock-ups of his soon. In the meantime, DIY Bride provides several alternatives for a more Do-it-all-yourself approach, my favorite being the Creature Comforts templates.

Offbeat Bride also recently posted an example that takes the idea to a more creative level. They also provide step-by-step instructions on how to create these save-the-dates.

If you love to read and want to incorporate your love for books into the wedding, this may be the idea for you. Unfortunately for us, it seems that we haven’t found our big lightbulb yet. It’s coming…I can feel it.

OH MY GODS! Lizzie, I love this idea so much! I wish Alan or I were graphic designers…we’d have a much easier time with invites and such. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with for your wedding! 🙂
