Creepy Cute
So there are these creepy and mysterious sculptures of animals (and a couple of people) all around the environmental science building on my campus. Yes. That’s what I’ve always thought as well.
Today, there were sweaters on all of the statues. It made my day.
They looked like they were all custom made, and I’ll put aside my absolutely not-that-girlie personality to say, “How flipping adorable is this!?” Everyone was gathered outside taking photos…smiling…Sometimes it’s the littlest things, right?
Next. Brace. Breathe. And keep in mind that you’re about to see a statue of a human in a sweater.
In other news, we’re really close to using the new site, can’t wait! It’s not gonna be a super awesome fully-practical website rebuild, like some of the other blogs are undergoing. Hopefully, a prettier blog, but just a blog, still. I like it this way…
We’re pumped! I’ve also got a teenie surprise for later in the day, so check back for a peek into history.
I love that! Site specific sweater installation for the win!
Sweaters on statue animals! Way too awesome, seriously! And new site, whaaaa? Killer. 🙂
this is just sweeet!
It’s adorable yet kinda scary at the same time 🙂
This reminds me of the Cardiff Kook surfer statue in Cardiff by the Sea, who gets dressed up in ridiculous get ups all the time.
How adorable! And those snapshots really are pretty damn cute, too.
Thanks, ladies, you’re sweet!
love these images. so creepy and cute at the same time!
I agree creepy but cute! Cute creepy!
Thanks for the average wedding cost section. I can’t believe it cost that much around the chicago burbs. I am afraid to start making a budget!
this is amazing.
how amazing but random at the same time…
xxxx
I’m going to go out on a limb here. Maybe I’m just pain creepy because I think sweaters on statues is sweet. (Love the photo effects too.)
haha i thought it was adorable as well…thanks to the iphone for the filters. it has brought a CRAZY amount of joy to the campus?! i can’t even believe it!
I love this! I am sort of unreasonably obsessed with people putting knitted pieces in nature. There is this great group in England who go on road trips and crochet on trees and such and it is wonderful.
dude, right?! what was upsetting is that after all the joy they brought to the campus (literally, people are still outside all day looking at these things!) they just did a quick profile on the artist in the paper..didn’t even show a photo of the crazy awesome work she did!
omfg. a lovely installation.
