SnapKnot: Check Them Out

September 29, 2010

I am a huge fan of the website SnapKnot. I love the idea of sorting photographers by location, by price and how clearly their style is displayed. I was so excited Isaiah and I were featured on their site recently and I wanted to find out more about how SnapKnot got started. I talked with Michael, half of SnapKnot, about how SnapKnot got started and why its so unique.

SnapKnot is a website that helps engaged couples find the perfect wedding photographer. The site shows off the work of photographers through an easy-to-use interface that allowed for quick comparisons between photographers. Couples can filter photographers by location and budget range and see eligible photographers side by side to contrast style.

Founders Mike Rheaume and Reid Warner were freshman year roommates at Dartmouth College and remained good friends after the fact. When Reid was married in 2007, he and his wife had a really hard time finding a photographer. Like many of us have experienced, the process was long and frustrating and disappointing when they realized their “dream photographers” were way outside of their budget.

Reid knew there had to be a better way to search for a wedding photographer. Mike was working for a small marketing firm in Boston and was itching for a new project. “We jumped in with both feet from there!” Mike said.

The site launched in February of this year and has had amazing growth so far. There are more than 1300 photographers on the site worldwide! I highly recommend this site for any couple looking for their wedding photographer, it’s really easy to use, informative and transparent. The photographer’s cost, experience and a chosen couple of images from their portfolio are visible right from the start!

Definitely check it out, SnapKnot is where it’s at.
