From Him Monday: She Sick, He Sick
In my experience, women are much more tolerant of being sick than us guys are. I’ll be the first to say I am a huge F-ing baby. Lizzie was sick most of the week. Took her the the doc with an on and off again fever and the doc barely looked her over before deciding it was a cold (it wasn’t), and it pisses me off to no end when docs are so dismissive, this doc didnt even look at her throat after Lizzie described it as being really sore and feeling like sand paper. Idiots.
She started getting better and my nose started to cease to work. Last Thursday we went to see The Black Keys and Kings of Leon and I started getting sick in full effect. Great show…Black Keys owned. I’m now certain that I only like maybe two songs by KOL. I am now at the cough and feels-like-I-could-es-plode phase of this thing. Lizzie’s taken good care of me.
As for movies, the vampire genre has had a noticeable and well publicized boom in pop culture which can be the only explanation as to why this movie could have possibly fallen through the cracks. Teeny boppers have hijacked the arena and all flicks with real “bite” (pun intended) get over looked if they lose that audience. The film is called “Daybreakers” and Lizzie and I passed it up a bunch of times…but we kept coming back to it reading Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawk…How can this not be awesome? The main problem was that no one we know ever said anything about it one way or the other and if you dont hear about a flick you assume its for a reason. I’m now convinced its because everyone else is just like us and passed it up. Think Gattica meets the first Matrix meets Underworld with a touch of the video game BioShock. A clean and well executed gem. A horror, sci-fi, action hybrid. I urge you all to check it out.
This has nothing to do with weddings, it’s really just filler about what’s going on in our world…we spent Saturday and Sunday completely wrapped up in homework and our Netflix instant cue, tackling both Daybreakers and Coppola’s Dracula…along with an embarrassing amount of other movies.
To bring it back in the wedding realm, we had a brief discussion on suits. I personally no longer own my own suit and would like to have a tailored suit for the wedding…however, to stay in budget, I may rent.
Did you or your groom buy or rent your suit?
What do you recommend?
If you bought a suit, did you have it custom tailored?
While I’m back to being pampered by my sweet Lizzie…she gets to bring me tissues and medicine for another day…but I should be back on my feet tomorrow. It feels great to take care of someone…and then turn around and have them take care of you just as well.

Women are definitely better at dealing with colds etc. My boyfriend had a cold the other week and took a week off work where I made him 3 meals a day!. At one point looked at me mournfully and asked ‘Will I get through this’!
Haha! I get how that works…however, I was a big flobbity mess when I was sick too…I whined all night once because “Isaiah didn’t care about me” because he wouldn’t go to the store for the third time for ice cream that day. Yeah, not my proudest moment…usually I’m sick like a champ!
feel better you two! I would have been so jazzed if I got to see the Black Keys! I love them. As for suits, I think Ryan bought his at Men’s Wearhouse and maybe got his best man’s half off as part of a sale and then they just split it. Hope that helps!
Oh man, thanks! I know they’re great, they are AMAZING live as well. That definitely helps, I’ll pass it along to the author, haha.
As far as tuxes go, I went through Men’s Warehouse as well, and was pleased enough with them. I rented mainly because I’ll probably wear a tux only when I’m standing up for a wedding. Unless I become rich.
