Geek Out: 2nd Edition
We’ve sped right past 100 posts, and we’re really excited about our giveaway celebrating the opening of our first Etsy shop, ctrlP. Isaiah and I have been collecting our share of wedding stuff we’re LOVING lately and I figured we could get through the weekend categorizing all of it in our second geek-out post.
Concert poster invites are becoming a new favorite of mine. Although I fell in love with a rockstar one a while back, I have seen a ton of new ideas that are sparking something lately. This poster invite from Once Wed is a new favorite.
As said about a billion times: Isaiah and I both love everything music and have already decided it will be an integral part of our wedding. These full-sized record invites really took the whole idea to a whole new level, they were featured on 100 Layer Cake.
A more simplified, colorful version from ElloThere can be found on Etsy. I am a huge fan of Olivia Leigh Photographie and this venue, A New Leaf. If you’re in Chicago and can afford this combo, you’re in good hands.
Lately, of course, while we don’t have jobs, I have been obsessing over housewares…a few of my favorites: Antique colored glass, milk glass and blue & white porcelain. Tidbit about me: My family has had a booth at the flea market for over 30 years. Everyone has spent their fair share of summers stripping and staining furniture…stalking the local auctions for good finds and browsing the flea market for some antique goodies. These styles of dishes have a warm place in my heart, because of that. I love this take on blue and white porcelain from D-Hub Designs and the collection of colored glass is from all over.
Some wedding geek-outs, some general geek-outs. Hope you enjoy.
Oh I love the blue/white porcelain! Very playful.
I imagine you and Isaiah are working up some more heavily music-themed designs for your shop, right?
