Post-Engagement Photos

Wow. We feel like different people. Kidding. We spent Saturday with our fab photographer and today was spent back at the radio station. We had a GREAT weekend. Like, an unusually great weekend. We spent Saturday morning (or at least I did) getting plucked and waxed and our hairs cut and Isaiah picked up a couple of great looking shirts from Macy’s. If you are as mad at Macy’s as we are about taking over Marshall Fields and letting some great MF Chicago traditions fall, maybe it’s time for a revisit, they’ve got some great stuff.

Saturday night we curled up with a romantic movie, Saving Private Ryan, 95% of the film is realistic death scenes that had me feeling like I should be writing letters to soldiers everyday. 5% was sweet and epic words said during dying breaths. So basically 100% death. But a great film nonetheless.

This morning we headed to the station, enjoyed the drive to Dallas together and then lined up at Golden Corral with the rest of the heifers at the trough. No, but seriously, I’ll never eat at an American buffet again. Usually you think, where else can I get some stuffing and dismally mediocre soft-serve ice cream with all of the accoutrement that goes along at one place? But instead, you get sweaty, coughing, should be wearing 2x as much material folks gathered around to share the mixed-together gruel.

I can’t stand to watch people eating unlimited piles of food falling off the sides of plates, running back to the buffet for fourths. Really. I thought a buffet was about diversity, not quantity, and I’m not a skinny girl. Also, if you’re a Buffet Offender, or BO as I like to call you, (for both reasons, usually), wait until you sit down to eat your food. If I had seen one more person licking their fingers and then touching communal serving spoons, I was gonna go bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S on that place.

We took some random photos in between breaks in recording at the station. Isaiah finally got to see where I’ve been interning the last few months, and as always, he was oh-so-charming. We have some great music to share with you in the coming week. Hopefully some stuff you haven’t heard and a kick-booty template for Thursday.

Here are some photos {NOT the engagement photos}, as apparently there was some confusion about that last time. We are so anxious to see them and can’t wait to share. {Fingers crossed}

1.) You guys look HOT! And not like, damn Texas is hot, but like, SHIT YOU GUYS ARE HAWT! So freaking adorable. I know, I say it all the time, but I always mean it!

2.) TOTALLY went to a brunch buffet for Father’s Day yesterday and pulled the nastiest move ever. I was eating bacon… off of my plate… while waiting in line… for prime rib!!! HAHAH! Now that’s some heifer shit!

3.) Old Country Buffet and Golden Corral scare me. A lot. I’m down with the brunch buffet and the seafood buffet- but I just can’t bring myself to the good ol’ slopathon that is called the American Buffet.

4.) Unrelated, but kind of… Josh is buying a chin-up bar today. He wants to start p90x together… I am terrified. I just might rebel and hit up CiCi’s or something.

haha Angie, taking bacon off your plate while waiting for prime rib is not heiferish. I’m talking about {seen it with mine eyes yesterday} having your full plate of food. putting finger into mashed potatoes, licking finger. putting finger into banana pudding, licking finger. again. grabbing communal spoon. adding more pudding on top. repeat. walk back to seat. and it was a grandma nonetheless! She must have been 50+!

We have a truly amazing sushi buffet by our house, and we LOVE it.

Chin-ups! You know how many chin-ups I have done in my whole life? 0. Couldn’t in gym class when I was in like 6th grade either. Weak little arms. Sad. Good luck! And thanks.

Damn…. that is straight up foul.

I’ll let you know how the chin-ups go tomorrow or Wed. I too have never done a chin-up. Let’s just say I never got an A in P.E. What a stupid class anyway!

Taking our engagement pics was the first time it seriously feel “real” that we were getting married and having this big event and that it wasn’t just my hubs and i living our quiet little life. i hope theyre everything you hope for!

I understand the feeling completely! I definitely think it’s important not to argue whatsoever about the session or the day of {not that you should be trying to any other time or whatever}, but we just felt so completely smitten with each other the day of…not that we don’t all year round, but just something that happened the day of, felt so romantic and epic for some reason.

If this is the only way to get a hold of you so be it.

I went on a cruise once (just once; I’m not cruise people) that had a midnight chocolate buffet. Oh, lord, that was awful. First, who the feck needs to eat their weight in chocolate in the middle of the night right before going to sleep? Not I, says the little piggy. Second, there is nothing (and I do mean nothing) that illustrates gluttany more than people in too-little clothing carrying two plates both stacked with chocolate cakes teetering in six-inch piles. Ugh.

Okay, and the finger licking thing? Um, yeah. Disgusting.

On a brighter note, can’t wait to see the engagement shoot!

I can’t wait to see the pics! Also, where are people’s manners? Licking their fingers!?!?! so gross!

I know!! I am an offender after cheetos though..but last I checked, I wasn’t eating the Cheetos out of a vat of community Cheetos and then going back for more with my licked fingers. Word.

I have a love/hate relationship with blogs I find that I get stuck on WAY longer than anticipated because they are just so darn interesting! I too am planning a ten thou wedding, with a twist, due to my outrage over “Platinum Weddings” and the ridiculous cost of the modern wedding. I enjoy your humor and your savvy tips! I look forward to continuing to follow your planning process!

haha thanks so much Alicia! I’ve definitely checked out your blog and I love the charity aspect! Keep it up!

Whoa – love the panoramics. I’ve been searching for some unusual/creative ways of doing engagement photos and I’m totally excited to see yours!
