New Tradition: Template Thursdays.

by

I was delighted, no, fucking ecstatic, that our templates were featured by Ashley of Hi-Fi Weddings and Alison of The Knotty Bride yesterday. They were very warmly received by the “community” {always sound like I’ve joined the occult when I say that}, and I literally said out loud – “a-doi!”

Although I feel like an awkward pre-teen giving way too long of an acceptance speech at the Kids’ Choice Awards, I feel like I should say something. I am Isaiah’s biggest fan with graphic design, he has such a unique eye for style and design and, best of all, {I’ve said it before}, he has this uncanny ability to pinpoint exactly what you have in mind, even if you don’t know it yet. I can hold my own in CS4 as well, he’s a pretty good teacher; but most of all, I love designing. I’m up at 6:18 in the a.m. tonight because I’ve been up messing around with designs for no deadline at all.

We were both like, wait…why did it take a week of bed-rest for us to think about sharing templates? I always feel like I have to give something back to the “community” {chant}, because I get so much from it. I love checking out all of your blogs and I steal ideas for my own wedding regularly.

Moving on. We’ve decided to start a tradition of sharing a template every Thursday.

Hopefully we’ll cover something you can use for your wedding, inspiration or to throw darts at…if not, e-mail us with ideas.

Thanks again for the warm reception, really made me feel like I could pop a wing out of the cocoon.

again – “a-doi!” I’m open for surprises anytime…except those “What’s that smell?” or “What’s on my shoe?” surprises. In all seriousness…thanks again, I really appreciated it, made my day.

This rules, Lizzie. YOU KNOW I’ll be coming back regularly. Can’t wait to see what your design-mindedness brings the “community” going forward. Pop that wing out, sistafriend.

Haha you know you’re awesome. We are going design CRAZY over here girl. For real. I’m all Pigpen – only instead of a constant cloud of dust and dirt – it’s designing. I think. Does that metaphor work?

Here are things I like about Thursday:

    – It’s the day before Friday.
    – It comes from “Thunor’s Day” (The Norse Thor) and that guy was pretty bad-ass.
    – There are often daytime baseball games on Thursdays and so I can listen on the radio at work.
    – A new template from your amazing blog!
