Freakout: Wisdom Teeth

June 7, 2010

I found out when I was 14 that I had two wisdom teeth that were going to come through. They offered back then to go in and get them, but me being horribly terrified of needles and remembering every horror story my mom told me about problems she had afterward, I politely declined.

So now it’s time…it’s been a fun ride wisdom teeth. You’ve made me have to actually use my retainer, uncomfortable at times and a nice little home back there. I’ll be kind of sad to see you go, scared of all of the “do-not’s” of having you removed, but mostly, I’m ready.

Thought I’d share this clip from my all-time guilty pleasure movie. It’s been overlooked by many.

Oh, man. Wisdom teeth. It’s not so bad. I had little bruising under my jaw, but that’s only because the two bottom ones were impacted. But I had a very “David after the Dentist” experience afterward- kind of trippy and fun. My mom thought I was a riot. Bring tissues, you will drool. The plus side to wisdom teeth getting pulled? Orange sorbet- lots of it.

@Angie: Mine are both impacted too. Everyone is telling me their horror stories like dry socket and what not…and it’s always followed by “but mine were impacted.” haha. I tell you what, the first thing I’m gonna do when I get them out is walk up to the first kid I see with my bandages on and be like Someday, little tyke…when you get your wisdom teeth out…it’s gonna be a BITCH, no matter what. and walk off.

    Kidding…it’ll be a pre-teen. Hate that age.

i’ll spare you my wisdom teeth horror story, and i’ll just say good luck.

one time i was running on a treadmill in the workout area of my apartment, and Ladies Man was on comedy central and I thought oh yes, i can watch a great movie while working out.

Even though I’ve seen it several times, I was laughing too hard to run on the treadmill, so i had to change the channel. 😦 looove that movie
