From Him Mondays: The Playlist Begins

May 17, 2010

This is a song that I’ve been steadfast on having played at the wedding of course with no resistance because my gal is rope-a-dope.

We haven’t done it yet but we’re gearing up for the play list.  We both want a dance party but what to play…. we want awesome but we aim to please the crowd too so it has to be a mix of classic dance songs, a touch of classic rock, indie, hip hop, merengue, salsa… this is gonna be a task… got any suggestions?

Stay tuned.

LOVE LOVE LOVE salsa music. That’s sure to be a hit.

We’re in the same boat. Our wedding is mostly young people with different musical tastes, so we want everyone to enjoy a little something. Us and his friends will want the indie dance party and my friends are fans of the Drake/Lil Wayne/Luda stuff.

Josh’s personal requests are as much Journey and Prince as humanly possible.
My personal requests are Never My Love by The Associates and Into the Mystic by Van Morrison.

Can’t wait to hear what you two choose!

We are right there with ya! While we are going to mix in a lot of our eclectic taste, we are basing most of it on popular dance songs because people like to dance to what they know!
Some songs like Van Morrison’s Moondance for the classic generations, some funk/good beats like the new Tightrope by Janelle Monae, Beastie Boys to rock it, and then mix in some not so trashy club songs like Imma Be by Black Eyed Peas (total guilty pleasure!)
I’ll try to get around to posting our list sometime. and you too! its always nice to see what other’s have mixed together!
