From Him Mondays: #4, A Day Late
I can hardly keep my eyes on this laptop when Chappelle’s Show is on. It’s funny to me how much of the stereotypical “dude” I actually am, despite my lack of sports knowledge. Even as beautiful as my lady is, she can try to grab my attention when I’m in a TV trance and I will be non-operational. The list goes on, once forgotten birthday, etc. I grew up partially in a salon thinking that if I paid enough attention I could possibly become an expert before my day. I flunked, but not for lack of trying.
Effort is deliberate and I try to make mine in many ways, most notably these days, at least, by being involved in all of this wedding stuff. Lizzie’s def taking the reigns a bit, but we make decisions on every little detail as a team. Shes been dope enough to do goo-gobs of the most awesome research to funnel all of the best stuff at me. Couldn’t be more lucky. She does all this while also putting together killer school projects of which she rocks 120 pts. outta 100… word, gal is that good.
I get to marry this amazing woman.

I gotta say, my mister is the same. I’m the captain of the wedding ship, but he is making an effort to be a solid second mate. So even if he isn’t on top of everything, it matters most that I know hes involved and engaged in the process.

@Jen: Isaiah is doing a better job than he’s making it out to be. He’s always involved, thinking of ideas to make our own invitations and save-the-dates….But shhh. haha.
Definitely…I love it when guys don’t get involved in the “I’m a guy…that’s what guys do…” mentality.
